A Tradition of Excellence

Hallen was founded by Maurice Hallen in 1927, operating primarily as a welding company. When engineer Arthur Poole joined the business in the 1940’s, after serving in the U.S. Navy, he helped the company expand into related fields. Arthur subsequently purchased the company in 1951, marking the start of Poole family ownership. Thomas Poole took the reins from his father in the early 70’s, and in turn passed them to his son Shepard Poole, who has worked for Hallen since 1991. In 2019, Hallen Construction was acquired by Quanta Services, but Shep continues to lead the company as its current President and CEO. This acquisition has triggered many new opportunities for expansion and has energized our outlook for the future. In this new era, we will continue to uphold the tradition of honor and excellence that has become synonymous with the name, Hallen.
