Director, EHS – Special Projects

A leading northeast gas contractor working primarily in the 5 boroughs of New York City is searching for a full-time EHS Intern. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong communication and technical skills. This is an excellent opportunity to grow with the largest union affiliated gas contractor in the New York City area.

  • Oversee EHS concerns related to all Special Projects (SP)
  • Manage EHS staffing and any monitoring needs for SP’s
  • Coordinate EHS efforts with project owners (utilities) and their EHS staff and Hallen’s SP Team
  • Lead Incident investigations related to SP’s. Attend Incident Analysis ( IA’s) as needed. Disseminate Lessons Learned.
  • Determine and deliver training as needed
  • SP lead on roll out of our Safety Management System and Quanta’s Capacity Model
  • Represent Hallen at project Environmental Health and Safety and PHA meetings & calls
  • Conduct EHS site audits
  • Analyze and share EHS data related SP’s
  • SP lead on HASP development, delivery, and crew training

Requirements:

  • Field experience with focus in EH&S – min. 3 years
  • OSHA 30
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to commute within the 5 boroughs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Experience / Knowledge Desired:

  • Field experience with focus in EHS
  • Knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements in the areas such as:

o             project safety

o             environmental regulations

o             hazardous materials management

o             soil management

o             fire protection

  • Experience with Digital Applications preferred (PowerBi, Tableu, or similar)
